Water Warning Still In Effect For Vancouver

This is important – boiling water doesn’t do anything about turbidity, you have to physically filter it out. So don’t think that by boiling water once than it’ll be fine. (Tip: Samar)

Like most of the downtown core, the stores in my neighborhood are running out of bottled water. Here’s the latest from the CBC…

“Health officials with the Greater Vancouver Regional District have lifted the boil-water advisory in many communities across the Lower Mainland, except Vancouver, the North Shore and Burnaby.

The announcement late Friday morning followed Thursday’s advisory by the Greater Vancouver Regional District for the whole area — as a result of brown, murky water in the aftermath of the powerful storm that hit B.C.’s South Coast this week.â€?

If you happen to have some spare cash floating around, have a free minute or two, and live in a neighborhood where the less fortunate could use some clean bottled water, you can always head to your local corner store and grab a few small bottles and hand them out.
