Giuliano Zaccardelli has resigned as RCMP commissioner because of what he has labeled inaccuracies in his testimony in the case of Maher Arar…

“The resignation came a day after Zaccardelli told the committee on public safety that he “made a mistake” in earlier testimony about the Mounties involvement in the Arar case.â€?

Were I a betting man I would put money on CSIS and elements within the Defense Ministry being just as culpable as the RCMP in this matter, and that some must be hoping that Zaccardelli’s resignation with see an end to it.
