Hospital Music has debuted at #1 in Canada and everyone here at MatthewGood.org would like to thank you, the fans, for making this happen. As some of you might be aware, while Matthew has routinely debuted in the top ten since the release of 1999’s Beautiful Midnight, this is the first time since the release of that record, eight years ago, that any of his work has debuted in the top spot.

We would also like to thank the tireless work of everyone at Bernie Breen management, the entire staff at Front Side, the gang at iTunes, and radio and retail throughout Canada for supporting the album.

  3. wow, that’s great and very well deserved. The cd is amazing and after all the shit Matt’s been through in the last year let me be the first to say kudos to putting out such a masterpiece.
On a side note got my tics today for the Fredericton show and Im uber pumped! Tics have only been on sale a few hours and its already almost sold out, so, Im glad I got my tics when I did!

    08 / 08 / 12:08
  19. Congrats Matt & team. If you got paid per time it was played by each CD owner, you’d be a millionaire in no time, maybe just from my share…

    08 / 08 / 12:21
  20. About time a REAL artist tops the charts. Nice work Matt and all the other behind the scene folks !!!

    08 / 08 / 12:25

    08 / 08 / 12:36

    08 / 08 / 12:40
  25. Wheeee, congratulations :D

    08 / 08 / 12:52
  26. This restores my faith in the music industry.
How refreshing - people actually want to hear REAL music not the same crap that mainstream propagates.

    08 / 08 / 12:53
  27. Please put your head over here…

    08 / 08 / 12:57
  28. great great news. a deserving album in the number 1 spot. well done

    08 / 08 / 12:57
  29. awesome. congratulations, it is an amazing album!

    08 / 08 / 13:05
  30. i guess in this day and age true art can emerge on top.

    08 / 08 / 13:07
  31. Knowing what Matt has shared about how rough this last year has been, I’m betting this good news (good in its own right) is likely especially welcome. From great darkness can rise a chart topping album, apparently. Congrats.

    08 / 08 / 13:24
  32. way to go Matt. you really deserve this. you worked hard on this album and worked just as hard promoting it and it really paid off.
    congratulations.

    08 / 08 / 13:49
  33. congratulations, hottest/smartest musician ever.

    08 / 08 / 13:53
  34. It’s been in heavy rotation round here since I got a copy and it’s easily one of the best records I’ve heard this year.

    Congrats, Matt! Totally well deserved.

    08 / 08 / 13:53
  35. That’s so wonderful. He deserves it so much. Now if I could just get my copy. Every day I check the shipping tracking number and it’s still sitting in Toronto. Push forward to Maryland, I say!!!!!

    08 / 08 / 13:56
  36. Which chart is this post referring to? (apologies if this is a obvious question)

    08 / 08 / 13:58
  37. Absolutely deserved, absolutely right. Congrats, Matt. It’s nice to emerge from my little hole and see you in the light.

    08 / 08 / 13:59
  38. MG you are exploding man! Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

You’re virtually on every channel I turn to these days. This album is quickly turning into your magnus opus and it hasn’t even been two weeks.

Congrats to you, the songwriter of the century.

    08 / 08 / 14:02
  39. Congrats and it is a fantastic album. I have to say that posting it streaming on your website was a brilliant move. I never buy CD’s anymore unless I hear the whole thing first because there is too much crap out there with one or two good songs - a good reason why most bands probably don’t stream their music ahead of time other than the obvious pirating issue. I listened to the stream, loved all of it and went out and bought it a day or two after the release date. Fantastic album that fully deserves to debut at #1.

    08 / 08 / 14:06
  40. congrats on another achievement, Matt. To have it equal BM in regards to opening at number one, thats quite a start when you consider how huge that record turned out to be. All that aside, HM is seriously incredible, possibly the first album I’ve heard in 3-4 years that even after the 30th time, its still as great as the first listen.

    08 / 08 / 14:12
  41. I suppose the #1 slot is congratulations enough, but congrats anyway Matt.

    08 / 08 / 14:14
  42. Congratulations, Matt. I’m now anxiously awaiting for your show in Toronto.

    08 / 08 / 14:27
  43. It’s about bloody time an artist with some true talent gets some recognition for their work. The album is stellar and I don’t think I’ve stopped listening to it since the release (minus sleeping).
    Congratulations Matt, well deserved.

    08 / 08 / 14:27
  44. #1 album in Canada for last week I believe, it is also presently #1 on iTunes Canada. #2 presently on amazon.ca 2nd to Feist, but I’m not sure how amazon does their rankings since they’re updated hourly.

In any event glad to hear you’ve had success off the album Matt, I do truly enjoy it. Its just a shame that you and your friends had to go through so much pain to inspire such an awesome album.

    08 / 08 / 14:30
  45. Congratulations, Matt.

    08 / 08 / 14:37
  46. woot!

    08 / 08 / 14:38
  47. Congratulations and thank-you for all the years of amazing music. You deserve the #1 spot and so much more!!

    08 / 08 / 14:46
  48. Congrats Matt, you deserve it!

    08 / 08 / 14:47
  49. Congratz Matt

    08 / 08 / 14:51
  50. Congratz!

Although I didn’t help it debut at #1, I plan on picking up my copy soon so I’ll be helping to maintain it at #1

    08 / 08 / 14:51
  51. Congrats. Well deserved. Wooo shit. It’s amazing what you have to go through sometimes to get there.

    08 / 08 / 15:09
  52. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Matty!

    08 / 08 / 15:21
  53. The wicked album I have in my CD player is thanks enough.

    08 / 08 / 15:21
  54. I think this could be filed under ‘tales of redemption’.

    08 / 08 / 15:30
  55. Fantastic news! You deserve the #1 spot on so many levels.

    08 / 08 / 15:37
  56. You deserve it, Matt. ‘Tis a fine piece of work.

    08 / 08 / 15:38
  57. congrats!!
after me playing HM in my car constantly, several of my friends and family members are looking to get a copy for themselves
we’re bringing them in, one by one

    08 / 08 / 15:40
  58. awesome… so happy to see this at number one! Thanks to everybody involved for the awesome record!

    08 / 08 / 16:05
  61. And the media thought they got rid of you…Muhahaha…

    08 / 08 / 16:09
  62. This news excited me a lot, I was shouting out loud in joy when I read the news. “And that’s without a video!” I exclaimed.

Congrats on this, all the people who said your MGB work was better than your solo efforts can kindly eat crow now.

    Edit: Some spelling mistakes, d’oh!

    08 / 08 / 16:31
  63. from one asshole to another—-congrats!!!!!!!!! the album is tits!!!

    08 / 08 / 16:45
  64. Congratulations! This is one of the most emotional and heartfelt albums I have heard in a long time and deserves nothing but accolades!

    08 / 08 / 16:47
  65. WHOOOHOOOO!! Good on ya MATT!

    08 / 08 / 16:57
  66. Congratulations Matt.
It doesn’t take a lot for people to realize this as a great album when they hear it.

I also wanted to say that upon reading this post, I noticed the newly added “related entries” tab, which I think is awesome.. so I wanted to give Dale a nod for that one.. very convenient!

    08 / 08 / 17:03
  67. Well done old boy! Enjoy it all…..

    08 / 08 / 17:04
  68. congrats matt!
a great record…well deserving of that number 1 spot!

    08 / 08 / 17:12
  69. ya Matt - this record is in sync with me in so many ways. It’s awesome. Thanks for the hard work and the emotion put into this.

    08 / 08 / 17:18
  70. Number one seller at HMV.
I was very happy to see that. Its normally some crappy rap album.

    08 / 08 / 18:00
  71. right fucking on!!

    08 / 08 / 18:28
  72. Congrats Matt! If ever an album deserved to be #1 it’s Hospital Music. You deserve it man!

    08 / 08 / 18:31
  73. Probably the most complete album that Matt has done to date. It has been with me, in my car, on my computer, and in my head since i first heard it. It paints pictures, tells stories, and provokes emotion to no end.

    Thank you Matt.

    08 / 08 / 18:35
  74. amazing album, congrats matt.

    08 / 08 / 18:38
  75. YES!! YEAH!

    08 / 08 / 18:43
  76. That’ll do Matt… that’ll do. Nice job Good.

    08 / 08 / 18:46
  77. Just got my copy from amazon.com in the mail today here in Cleveland, and it is freaking incredible. I don’t know how I’m going to turn it off long enough to go to sleep tonight. Great work, Matt !!!

    08 / 08 / 18:47
  78. On my charging iPod: Hospital Music ( I think around the 2:30 mark of Odette, actually.)
Playing in my iTunes as I type: tail end of 99% Of Us Is Failure
In my clunky old CD player: my unsigned copy of HM
Somewhere in Alberta: my signed copy, courtesy of the kind Mr. Shane.

And I’m beating friends & family alike over the head every chance I get.

All in all, niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. To everybody - Matt, Pat, Rod, Dale, the Apple folks, Roy, Jer Crowle, everybody I can’t think of who was involved in the production and/or promotion of this album, and my fellow fans. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

    08 / 08 / 19:11
  79. yippee! congratulations! you’ve earned it.

    08 / 08 / 19:13
  80. how long to gold status?

    08 / 08 / 19:15
  81. abosultly incredible. Ive lisitened to it atleast twice every day since I bought it.
    Truly worth the wait.

    08 / 08 / 19:17
  82. Well deserved Matthew - thank you for bringing us all such a brilliant piece of work. It seems odd to be so thankful for something that was born of such a terrible set of experiences; but I love it none the less given the extent to which it makes me feel.

    08 / 08 / 19:30
  83. high five…very nice.

    08 / 08 / 19:31
  84. I just came across the numbers for the first week: 11,332 records moved*.
By comparison, last week, the internationally-popular Sum 41 had their latest debut at #1 with 9,421 units scanned*.

    *music industry gobbledypoop.

    08 / 08 / 19:38
  85. Yes! #1! Glad to hear - well deserved indeed! The best album I’ve heard in so very long!

I hope it tops the charts for weeks to come & the morons on radio begin to give Born Losers the serious & consistent airplay it deserves.

    Cheers!
    Kris

    08 / 08 / 19:59
  86. Thank you to Matt for making such great music. You deserve the #1 spot.

    08 / 08 / 20:05
  87. Word, congratulations.

    08 / 08 / 20:13
  88. Lovely piece of work… hope it makes you rich…

    08 / 08 / 20:17
  89. Wow, after David Usher’s new record pretty much died after being released I had lost my faith in good music also being mainstream and popular….nice to see we have at least one artist out there who puts out intelligent recordings that actually sell. Good job Matt, it is well deserved…..

    08 / 08 / 20:23
  90. Congratulations Matt!! That is awesome. And as many have said before me, very well deserved. :) It truly is an incredible record and the one that won’t be leaving my car stereo any time soon…. :)

    08 / 08 / 20:33
  91. The colaborative hard work is paying off; a much deserved pat on the back to all involved. I’m personally working on converting everyone in my region of the US into fans. Seeing as all the hard work has been done (fabulous recording) this should be an easy task.

    08 / 08 / 20:36
  92. My dearest Matthew,

Many congratulations for such a magnificent record debuting on top! Nobody deserves it more.

From one who suffers from Bipolar to another, always remember that it doesn’t matter how shitty life can get - there’s always going to be an up somewhere. :)

    Luv,
    Emily.

    08 / 08 / 20:43
  93. Add me to the many purchasers, albeit US based, that am happy to see this. Numbers aren’t everything but this record deserves the attention and honor of being #1.

    Congratulations!

    08 / 08 / 20:51
  94. I’ll be honest. For the most part, I could care less what ‘ranking’ Matt’s music attains (according to whomever else than myself). Don’t get me wrong, I want him to be successful; be able to pay the bills whilst relishing in his passion, and at the end of the day garner some sorta recognition for the awesomeness he’s putting forth. I wouldn’t be any more or less happy for him or my own taste of music, nor that of the editors [of Rolling Stone], if he appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone.

Anyway, all I know is that I’ve always enjoyed what he’s written, and his latest effort is certainly no exception. Well actually, I think it is, in that it’s quite possibly his best yet, in my opinion. I just picked it up… and for me, it takes time to fully appreciate exceptional music, but it’s heading in that direction. I’ll stop rambling now.

    08 / 08 / 20:57
  95. Way to go buddy.

    08 / 08 / 20:58
  96. Congrats. It’s very well deserved.

    08 / 08 / 21:14

    You owe me a beer.

    08 / 08 / 21:24
  98. Well deserved. This a great album from an extremely talented writer. Just solidifies how strong of a fan base you have here in Canada and throughout the world. Matt’s music has definitely touched a lot more people then he could’ve imagined.

    08 / 08 / 21:42
  99. That’s awesome, congrats :)

    08 / 08 / 22:16
  100. Congratulations, Matt. And it’s getting great reviews too.

    08 / 08 / 22:31
  101. Well done, congrats. Odette is my new lullaby.

    08 / 08 / 22:43
  102. Congratulations Matt. Thank you for making the most amazing music throughout all these years.
On a side note, today I got on the city bus (something I rarely do) and a young man sat down infront of me minutes later. I watched as he took out his discman and slipped in Beautiful Midnight. Made me smile.

    08 / 08 / 22:48
  103. This is by far the biggest disappointment of any album I have anxiously waited to be released by any of my favorite artists. Less then stellar for a musician of Matt’s caliber. Not nearly on par with his past work. Of course I do understand it may have been partly due to lack of label support, financial and other issues. I was just wanting “more”! Hopefully, within a couple of years there will be a new album to look forward to and get the “Rock and Roll” back like White Light. I mean it just sounded so odd to hear Matt’s song on a US “Country” station sandwiched in between Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis. He was compared as a cross between a folky Billy Ray Cyrus and some idiot from American Idol named “Bucky??” Covington. Sorry I am not a country fan, sorry if I butchered their names.

    08 / 08 / 22:53
  104. Woohoo Matt, congratulation all the way from Australia!

You deserve all the acolaides, it’s an excellent CD.

    08 / 08 / 22:57
  105. Semper Fi.

I won’t bash you for your opinion because there is no point. Obviously, we all have different tastes so I respect your views.

However, I’d argue that why this CD is so special is precisely because it is such a far stretch from Matthew’s previous work. I love the harder stuff too. But, to me creative brilliance is the ability to take your talent in a different direction maintaining “most” of your loyal fan base while impressing your talent on a completely new walk of life. This CD does it in spades. I am an avid music lover of various genres and I can’t remember too many artists in the previous decade that have been able to re-invent themselves on such an impressive scale. Just my two cents.

    08 / 08 / 23:10
  106. Great work, Matt!

At the very least, these numbers (11,000 in Canada alone) prove that streaming an album in its entirety a month before its release was a good call. You probably won some converts there.

    08 / 08 / 23:15
  107. Quoting Semper Fi:

I have to agree with Patrick…the versatility that Matt’s shown as an artist is incredible in my view. And, as a fan from the start, I think that his “growth” is a good thing…it would get pretty stale if he just stayed the same. He mixes it up a lot on this album so please, don’t judge it by one song that you heard on the radio…give the entire thing a spin, start to finish and then tell me you hate it. And perhaps you’ve done that and have decided that it’s not for you…that’s o.k. But I fear that maybe you’re a little one dimensional and don’t have a real appreciation for all kinds of music…there’s some good country and some really bad “rock” out there. And if you’re limiting yourself to one particular “kind” of music, you’re missing out on a whole lot. Give it a chance to grow on you, you may change your mind.

    08 / 08 / 23:54
  108. this album is BLISSFUL…Champions of Nothing being track one freaks me outta my head bc my fav song on a cd is never TRACK ONE….(I have no idea why this thrills me so but it does)………

#1, where you deserve to be sitting….

    08 / 08 / 23:58
  109. Congrats Matt. No one deserves it more.

    08 / 08 / 23:58
  110. Semper Fi.

I won’t bash you for your opinion because there is no point. Obviously, we all have different tastes so I respect your views.

It’s just amazing that every member has posted nothing but kiss ass comments that just state the same thing over and over. Matt has balls to put out a record that goes in a different direction from his past ventures, but it seems fans don’t dare express themselves in this forum except to blindly agree to his every word. Where’s the fans balls to simply say, Matt your great, but this album just isn’t compared to your previous work. All we read is 100 comments, stating, “Your so great”, “I took a day off work to listen to your album”, “You have changed my life”, etc. Matt has the courage to say what may not be always popular and is very opinionated but no members seem to challenge or debate around here. Just a bunch of Matt puppets. Everything Matt posts, you see comments of, “I absolutely agree”, “That is so true”, etc. Why be scared of Matt? He may like a little honest feedback and friendly debate. He made the site for us, the fan for friendly open discussion. I get bored reading the same drivel after each of his posts.

    08 / 08 / 23:59
  111. This is even more remarkable when you consider that there hasn’t been a commercially released video for any of the songs yet.

    08 / 09 / 00:05
  112. patrick bell,

I know what you mean about this album being different. I love all the albums, especially Avalanche, Audio and the acoustic disc of Coma, but from the first time I heard Hospital Music I knew it was different. I think that musically it’s more sophisticated. It feels like the work of a more mature, masterful artist.

    08 / 09 / 00:08
  113. Awesome album! Anything less than #1 would just be wrong.

Here’s a link the the Canadian Charts if anyone one wants:
    http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/Charts/ALBUMS.html

    08 / 09 / 00:08
  114. Deb, Matt and I are the same approximate age and love many of the same bands of all genres. I have listened to the album many, many times since it was streaming and getting the CD last week. It was by chance I stumbled across it on a Texas country station. So this is not judging just one song. I am probably one of few US fans since Raygun in the Southern US and still, it just doesn’t get my adrenaline pumping as his past efforts.

    08 / 09 / 00:10
  115. Uh, “Matt puppets”? We’ve tried to be civilized and respectful…you on the other hand seem very cynical and sarcastic. Obviously, those of us who frequent this site do so because we are in support of Matt and like what he’s doing. So it just makes sense that the comments would reflect that, right? If we didn’t agree with him or like his music, we’d probably have enough common sense to just go away. Which is what you should do if we’re irritating and Matt’s new record sucks so bad.

I have to question your motives here…seems you want to be “noticed” and stand out from the rest of the crowd. Putting others down here was unnecessary…this is a nice bunch of people. If you’re bored, may I suggest you move on.

    08 / 09 / 00:13
  116. Oh yeah and all day at work today I had Champions of Nothing and She’s In It For The Money stuck in my head, good job!

    08 / 09 / 00:15
  117. There is music for adrenaline pumping activities and there’s music for other things. When you’re camping on a starry night with someone special, do you really wanna crank up the rocking tunes? Or do you want to put on something melodic and meaningful?

As I said, I fear you’re one dimensional in your listening. And it appears I’m right….rock and roll and adrenaline are great, just not all the time. And I feel this album has a little something for everyone tucked inside.

    08 / 09 / 00:21
  118. way to go dude!

    08 / 09 / 00:32
  119. Deb??? My motives? Putting who down? Did you not read I AM a fan. For years. I do support him and love his music. When did I say it sucked? What are you speaking about? Sarcastic and cynical??? When was I disrespectful? You are being disrespectful to me and a members views! I simply came forward and said, “Hey, this album in my opinion isn’t as great as the others!” This is an open forum of fans and not a place to attack fellow fans opinions. I have been on here everyday for over a year and I finally decide to comment and get bashed for not sharing your opinion. I really don’t think Matt would care about a member having their own opinion but may not appreciate a fan getting ripped by you for expressing a harmless point view. Maybe this is why members do not “stand out” more as you say for fear of being unfairly put down.

    08 / 09 / 00:41
  120. You didn’t get attacked for sharing your opinion.

I called you out for going on the attack, like this:

    “nothing but kiss ass”

    “where are the fan’s balls”

“it seems fans don’t dare express themselves…except to blindly agree”

“just a bunch of Matt puppets”

“I get bored reading the same drivel”

and as far as you “saying” it sucked - you didn’t. But this was pretty close:

“This is by far the biggest disappointment of any album I have anxiously waited to be released by any of my favorite artists. Less then stellar for a musician of Matt’s caliber. Not nearly on par with his past work. Of course I do understand it may have been partly due to lack of label support, financial and other issues. I was just wanting “more”!

    Not really a rave review.

And I respect you for your honesty, but not how you’ve expressed it. It was done so in a way that was critical of the fans here who don’t happen to share your view.

“This is an open forum of fans and not a place to attack fellow fans opinions”…. very true. So I question why you did that.

Anyhow, I’m done now. Tired of seeing my name here…time to move on. Have a good night. :)

    08 / 09 / 00:53
  121. ……and not a blip on the radar in Australia. I lay the blame for this at the feet of Universal Music. What an absolute joke. Thank all that is good for the internet so I can listen to this wonderful music.

    08 / 09 / 01:28
  122. Semper Fi,

Have you got cotton wool in your ears?

    08 / 09 / 02:30
  123. Quoting patrick bell:

    Semper Fi,

Ever stop to think that the comments written actually reflect the views of the person, i.e. that they actually do love the album? I am glad you’re sharing your views, but you can’t get upset with people who say they like the album and don’t consider it sub-par to his previous releases. You may not understand why people really like it while you don’t feel it’s Matt’s best, but that doesn’t mean that you can discount their love of the album as sycophantic.

I wouldn’t suggest you go away like others have, since all views should be welcome, but the tone of your second reply and your chastisement of those who like HM don’t help you make your point about the album. The first replies to your post tried to argue for the album’s good qualities. Why not write about why you feel it is sub-par and give examples and make references to specific things that disappointed you. Then we can all participate in contructive debate.

  124. That #1 spot is certainly well earned and deserved. Finally starting to hear more consistent radio play too. Congrats on an excellent album.

    08 / 09 / 05:20
  125. Huge congrats. Totally deserved.

    08 / 09 / 05:31
  126. Congratulations to everyone involved in the making of this incredible record. Thanks to Matt for continuing to do what he does best! Your music always brings a smile to my face.

    08 / 09 / 06:02
  127. I had been anticipating a new Matthew Good album for what seems like ages, and it was well-worth the wait. This is a ‘darker album’ for Matt, but for him to let his fans “into what he’s been going through” the past year or so, is true testament of his comfort and closeness with his fan-base and now himself. All the best in your tour Matt…see you in Ottawa on October 18th!

    08 / 09 / 06:29
  128. congrats matt, this album is nothing short of amazing, esspecialy to the hardcore fans who have been reading your blog and get an even better look at the events inspiring the songs.

    08 / 09 / 06:53
  129. Sember FI, Patrick Bell, Deb and Blanchie have been having quite the back and forth. It’s been fun to watch.

We can’t forget the fact that many of the people who frequent this blog have done so for quite some time, and we’ve been a witness to the struggles Matt has been through and have been privy to some extremely personal information about Matt that many artists will not put on display for their fans. Mix this fact with our simple adoration of Matt’s previous work, and we have already developed a positive and very personal connection to Hospital Music before we unwrap the thing and throw it in the CD player.

This is a rare case where an album may not be appreciated simply for it’s riffs, hooks and melodies but because we get to see the source of the song. I am biased because I know of the experiences that led to the lyrics. I actually feel bitterness when I hear “She’s in it for the Money”. I have an idea where the poetry comes from. However, most listeners do not. To the many people who do not participate in http://www.matthewgood.org, the songs will have to speak for themselves.

I hope they speak very loudly.

    08 / 09 / 07:44
  130. congratulations, matt. i just wanted to reiterate that :)

    08 / 09 / 07:49
  131. Forgot to say Matt and everyone involved thankyou for giving me this masterpiece to listen to. It’s your best album to date Matt. I am in the UK and ordered HM from maplemusic.ca and counted down the days waiting for it to arrive, I’ve not stopped listening to it since it arrived.

    08 / 09 / 07:50
  132. Fantasic-truly well deserved-love the new album! Best of luck on tour.

    08 / 09 / 08:23
  133. Semper Fi.

Trust me I’d be the first to agree with you when you say there is usually a lot of ass kissing on here and it does get tiring to read the same shit over and over…and trust me, I’ve had my personal goes with Matthew on some issues. We’ve kept it to e-mails where it really should be or it gets really stupid on here with back and forth bashing which takes away from the original post. I’m a bit of a hot head as well so I ain’t afraid so speak my mind. I didn’t take your rebuttal as a personal attack or I’d be talking shit right back at you now….

However, all I was doing was justifying the work on the Matt’s latest CD as to what I view it as….I’m impressed with it and you aren’t…thats alright. Matthew is a big boy. He reads this and I don’t think he has a problem with you or any others stating their opposing thoughts to his work. After all, he is in the entertainment industry where one has to develop a somewhat thick skin as criticism can come at an artist from all directions…

    08 / 09 / 08:39
  134. this is the perfect way to tell everyone to ‘blow you’

    08 / 09 / 08:55
  135. how is it kissing ass when i genuinely adore this new album? …when i cant take it out of my car’s cd player?… or when it’s all i listen to on my ipod when i go biking?

yeah, real nice kissing ass lindsay. real nice.

    08 / 09 / 10:18
  136. It’s not about …….Ass Kissing…..
last Time I checked his Name was Matt Good….not Matt God

He’s a great Artist…one with an Intense Nature…who feels Things deeply
and it really shows in his New Record….

    Like I said before….
Well done Matt and Everyone else that was involved
in the Production of a great Piece of Work…

    P.S.: Come to think of it…..Mad God….would be a cute nick Name…….hehe

    08 / 09 / 11:03
  137. ROCK ON MATT GOOD!!!!! Friggin’ awesome. I am absolutely in love with this album, so real, so intense. Very much looking forward to the 18th of October to hear/see you LIVE! 69 more sleeps!! (haha! that’s kinda funny!)

    08 / 09 / 11:26
  138. CONGRATS MATT!!! For those of us who have always been supporters of your music, this comes as no shock! Looking forward to seeing you here in Fredericton on the 13th of October. Can’t wait to hear it all live!!!

    08 / 09 / 12:07
  139. Your music stirs me… this album is brilliant… you are amazing!… I have always been a fan of YOU, matt! ..congrats!

    08 / 09 / 12:42
  140. joann…try craigslist. Don’t no if Matt condones people reselling tickets, but they do on there….I’m still trying to get my Keith Urban tickets as it is sold out too

    08 / 09 / 12:48
  141. Congrats, Matt.
What an incredible piece of art, it deserves to be in the top spot.

    08 / 09 / 13:18
  142. joann…I know that people bought them on the presale day, then upgraded to better seats when they actually went on sale the following day to the general public. And mention was made of selling the “extra” sets of tickets.

Check out the community forum and post your desire to buy some there…I know there must be some floating around out there somewhere.

G/L and hope to see you there!

    08 / 09 / 13:22
  143. Awesome. Does that mean there might be a music video to follow? (If someone already asked, I’m sorry but there is no way I was going to read all of that.)

    08 / 09 / 14:53
  144. canada officially has better music taste than america

    08 / 09 / 16:19
  145. Obviously, not everyone like the same things like Semper FI seems to show, tastes are not really debatable. However, considering the personal fact that I have seen some of my friends that usually do not like Matt Good type of music buy this album… it has to be great somewhere and I really like it myself as well. You don’t like it, fine, fortunately it doesn’t seem to be the majority of listeners.

Just like I don’t like Rihanna, and she is number two on the current charts and I hear her breaking my ears on the radio every fscking day, but some people must like her if she is at the position #2…

So, to me and probably most fans, it is very satisfying to see Hospital Music #1 before all of this crap. You really deserve all the success it gets Matt.

    08 / 09 / 16:25
  146. nice work, the cd is amazing. thanks
