MG Show Gallery
We’ve been prepping an addition to the website that will show a gallery of photos taken by fans from various stops along the Nothing To Hide Tour.
If you’re in attendance and have snapped some shots from a show, you can send them along to admin@matthewgood.org, and they’ll be considered for inclusion in the show gallery.
Please zip your photo files, and keep them under 1600 x 1050 if possible
Include the date and venue in your e-mail
Remember to include your full name for credit
In Addition
Some venues themselves may not permit photos to be taken. If you do take photos at those venues, consider yourselves warned.

This is great,
Lets hope that cameras will be allowed for most venues!
September 17th, 2007 at 5:25 pm
I am very excited about this feature as well as impressed at your bravery of this addition. Way to open the flood gates to massive amounts of pictures. I hope you will have help in this little feature.
September 17th, 2007 at 5:30 pm
Ha ha!!!
After receiving lots o’ megabytes of video from the Born Losers contest and footage submittal, I think I’m ready.
September 17th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
Hmm, I thought cameras wouldn’t be allowed at most venues. I know, at least, the Guelph show does not permit cameras.
September 17th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
I’m hoping to stuff my digital SLR into my shoe somehow.
September 17th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Awesome idea!! and also you’ve jus read my mind by answering if we would be alot to have digital photo camera’s inside. Look forward to seeing all the pictures.
September 17th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Anyone know if Meyer Horowitz theatre will allow digital SLR’s into the theatre? I’m so stoked about getting rad concert shots, but if they don’t let me in with my 30D and 50 1.8, then I’m not going to get any shots at all, haha.
September 17th, 2007 at 5:49 pm
Oh my GOD!!! If the Vancouver show is not permitted, I’ll be drop kickin ass.. I have my cam all ready to go, no one is getting in my way, baby!!!

Alas.
September 17th, 2007 at 6:13 pm
Great idea.
Any word regarding live recordings at any of the shows?
It was discussed earlier this year about recording some of the shows so that you could listen to the show that you attended.
Just wondering if it was still being considered…
September 17th, 2007 at 6:13 pm
I really hope the Van show allows cameras… they do bag check and stuff (I think) so I have no chance of hiding my digital SLR…
I recall the show at the VECC said no cameras but as soon as Matt gave the ok cameras came out of the woodwork haha
September 17th, 2007 at 6:17 pm
I haven’t discussed photos or audio recordings in any detail with Matthew, but he did like the show gallery idea. I’m sure once the show’s over tonight and he has a chance to pop online he’ll chime in.
September 17th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Great….my daughter usually gets some fantastic shots. Me - not so much.
September 17th, 2007 at 6:55 pm
I would LOVE to bring my DSLR to the Montreal show as well. However, not knowing what the policies are going to be when you get to the door…. :-/
Anyone have any idea what the policy is at Club Soda? How strict are they?
September 17th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
So what happens if we do take pics of the shows that we aren’t allowed to bring cameras?
September 17th, 2007 at 7:29 pm
If you don’t know the policy at a particular venue, call the venue and ask. Be sure to mention the date and that it’s Matt, too, as policy will likely vary from show to show. And calling again right before the show to see if it has been changed would be smart, too.
If all else fails, borrow/grab a P&S and give ‘er! :)
September 17th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
fucking dibs on the saskatoon show.
I’ll fight you if you pull out your camera
September 17th, 2007 at 8:03 pm
I’m with Duane on the DSLR comment. Ha I’m laughing ’cause I know I’ll never be able to get it in the venue. Oh well.
September 17th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
Although the Centre in Vancouver doesn’t really permit cameras, they were o.k. with them at the last show we attended there, provided that:
a) they weren’t professional equipment with powerful lenses
b) flashes weren’t used
c) NO recording was done (they actually came over and told my daughter to stop)
So, very low key is doable.
September 17th, 2007 at 8:50 pm
Will video cameras be permitted? I’ve got a nice video camera that I woudln’t mind using where I’m going if it’s allowed.
September 17th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Does anyone happen to know the Jack Singer’s policy on cameras?

Thanks Deb, I knew I could count on you.. I hope I see you there!!!!! Looks like I’ll have my DSLR in my shoe, and I’ll save the crotching for my telephoto lens… if only I were a guy and could get away with that kind of bulge in my pants… :|
Bought tickets a mere hour after presale started and I’m way at the back :(

A mere hour?…you were actually probably lucky to get tickets. We were online the second tickets went on sale for the presale and got midway on the right hand side…the best tickets were saved for the public sale the next day and sold out immediately. But they’re all good seats at the Vancouver venue so no worries.
September 17th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
matt - your show was amazing tonight. tell pete that “avalanche” was his shot at getting on the front page of modern lighting. it was a highlight and by far the best lights! thx for coming back!
September 18th, 2007 at 12:22 am
Well this sure saves me from having to make a flickr group like I was planning.
September 18th, 2007 at 5:48 am
Front Row Centre Stage in Sarnia. They better allow cameras.
September 18th, 2007 at 6:59 am
Awww…
now I REALLY feel bad that I’m not able to go…damn you, and you’re awesomeness! Sold out Vancouver show and such. Foiled again!
(no sarcasm involved…just so we’re clear).:)

Club Soda will only frisk you for weapons and all. I mean it is Montreal :-)
I called The Center for the Vancouver show and they said that cameras have been accepted in the past but with no flash due to the theater having seats.
September 18th, 2007 at 9:47 am
That ROCKS!!!!! I have my Black and White all set up and ready to SHOOT. yay.
Folks, a few things I have learned along the way is flash pots act as flash anyways, take your pix during those times and when the canon’s go off… There will be canon’s right? fireworks, etc?
September 18th, 2007 at 10:49 am
Here are some from last night….amazing show…2nd row…I was accosted/acosted (sp) by ushers a few times for using flash and recording, although i didnt use flash once all night and didnt want to use any memory on video so…? haha
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jennzebel/
Really was a fantastic show…I know you will all agree and I look fwd to other ppls pics as well!
I got 2 camera’s in….so if they took the big one i had a back up showed in with my menstrual products…OHHH YEAH IM STEALTHHHHHHH

That’s awesome, Jen! You took some pretty good shots there!! :) Love the idea you’ve got for “camouflage”!! ;-)

Hey, Matt!
come play crappy Chilliwack!
lol.
or the UCFV campus in Abby…
you know you want to…
okay, well maybe you don’t…I wouldn’t blame ya…
but I tried!
September 18th, 2007 at 11:28 am
Nameless you got some seriously awesome pix!!!!! Were you zoomed in alot? I find on my cam if i have to zoom it all the way and no flash, I’m screwed.. the pix are all blurry…… was the lighting enough to help? Haven’t been to a show at the Ford in quite a while, can’t remember the lighting sitch.
OMG the emotion in MG’s pix is so amazing and natural.. Good job, you captured exactly what I hope to capture on Thursday!!!!!!
September 18th, 2007 at 11:45 am
Fantastic!
For anyone attending the Playhouse show on October 13 in Fredericton, I just checked on their website and it states:
“Unless otherwise noted by the performer, no still photography (including digital), video or audio recording is allowed during any performance.”
So if Matt gives the go-ahead, pictures and non-intrusive recordings should be no problem at all. :D
September 18th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Hey a minor request/idea:
1) Would it be possible to implament a section for show setlists? I’d really like to hear which songs are played at each show. In the past fansites took care of this but the setlists would be hit or miss and — unless I am looking in the wrong place — I haven’t even found one for last night yet.
2) Could whoever went to last night’s show post a setlist here? lol
One last thing: Are you signing autographs after shows Matt? If so how long after a show do you usually do so?
September 18th, 2007 at 1:14 pm
Dude love click at the top where it says Community Forums.. Someone created a thread called ’setlists’ just yesterday. Also someone above posted a link her for the Times Columnist with review of last nights performance… Looks like no ‘radio songs’ were performed, as they described… However, I hate it when they write that because I’m sure some ‘radio songs’ were sung…
September 18th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
But the best ones are the ones that don’t get played on the radio:)
September 18th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Strange Days is one of the best IMO.
September 18th, 2007 at 2:18 pm
menstral products. maybe I’ll try that trick
September 18th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Where’s dimitri when I need him?
I’ll be bringing my kit with me for the Montreal show, and I’m hoping for some good shots. Hopefully they won’t can my gear. Anyone trying to confiscate it will have to fight me to the death, because it’s practically my livelihood when I’m working.
On that note, high shutter speed, wide aperature, and get ready for your closeup, Mr. Good. Hopefully nobody gets cheeky with their point ‘n shoots.
September 18th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
I actually took 300 pics….I find if I take lots and mess around and wait for good lighting etc I can get some cool ones….without flash.
The camera I used has image stabilizer so that helps….It has a 12x zoom too.
plus I was 2nd row which makes ALL the difference…
I get such a boner when ppl get pics at concerts im not at I take these for the ppl not there…gawd damn im like a public servant….haha only I dont run up an 80K pizza tab…
~Jen~
September 18th, 2007 at 8:11 pm
Nameless:
Nice shots!
My friend uses a Canon S3 IS for his concert photography… I think I might have to borrow it if The Center says hell no to DSLRs
…I just took a better look at your pics.
SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS.
If I could get even ONE shot like some of those… wow. I faved one. It gave me good shivers.

Yikes, probably not the best time to be joking about sugar daddy stuff…
Folks, it’s my husband, I was kidding…
My main priority in life is getting my kid to sit at the dinner table with me, not the latest LV fashion….
side note: priority for the evening… MG Handbag.. now that’s the latest fashion..

Tanya: Yes I got my ass moving alright…left work in Portland at 1:00pm…I made it by 7:30 (barely) 6.5 hours (1.5 in Seattle traffic alone) and thank god for the Nexus lane at the border! Had to haul ass and limit the “rest” stops…two bathroom breaks and that was it.
To answer your question I am German…as it turns out my initials are all E’s. Unfortunately I didn’t pick up the man purse…ixnay on the man purse eh. Money went to gas and “Event Parking”…I am sure everyone knows about the event parking by now.
Anyway great show Matt!, I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as myself. Now to hop back into the car and head back for Seattle for school tonight…I need a chauffer…this driving shit is getting old!
Cheers,
EEE

I was way back in Row R last night at The Centre.. but I managed to get some really good shots (for being so far away) I also managed to record a bunch of the songs including Rod and Matt’s “I’m A Window” guitar duet. I’ll try and get those up somewhere.
Here’s the link to the dozen or so pictures I took.
I actually look about 130 but most were blurry cause I had to zoomed as much as it would go and Matt wouldn’t stand still :P
