On a side note, congrats Dale! I hear Peter Jackson is making a movie of your life!

Ha! I happened to be up in Surrey on xmess eve to visit my brother.....I was listening to the Fox and heard the DJ mention you were moving to hamilton. All I could think was WHY would he do that?

On a side note, I know it is silly but it is always such a thrill when I get up north and can tune into canadian radio to hear you and all my other fave Canadian bands on the air.

All I could think of when I read this thread was back in October during the Sarnia show someone shouted "MOVE TO SARNIA!" and then I proceeded to have a heart attack when I thought of the possiblity of Matt actually moving to Southern Ontario...not that I don't want him to do what he thinks he's best, but when I stepped of the plane in Vancouver a year ago, the first thing I noticed is that it didn't smell like ass. He's fine where he is.

But he's not, which is good.

Try putting your names at the BOTTOM of each post, as in signing out. I read you via RSS feed, where it is very very easy to *not* check who's posting. All posts originate from matthewgood.org, and a lot of people won't bother looking closer at the name appearing below.... as such your name is always there in the most prominent place.

I sympathize with the confused on this problem because, you know, my writing is so similar to your's. Many a time I have read one of YOUR posts and thought:

"WOW, I'm really fucking smart!"

Even though I don't remember writing.

Anyways, thanks to everyone for the congrats on mine and Sara's new place in Hamilton, and for all those who came out to my show in Kelowna. Gotta take the dogs for a walk now, and then it's back off to the grind that is my job at the border security.

Duane's right- the author names are included in the feed- the issue is with how some feed programs filter it. I use Google Reader, Google's free online solution which is very extensible. Give it a look.

It doesn't matter how you display the authors names some people just aren't the least bit observant.

Speaking of blinking, blinding banners and text, I want to thank you Matthew for recommending Virb.com. My band has ditched Myspace altogether for Virb's clean and user friendly system. We have our entire new Cd posted there for free download which is much better than Myspace's silly limits on song uploads.

Thanks.

Maybe that's why I save my sanity and stick to LJ. Though I have seen some frightening characters on there. At least I don't have to see the underage lingerie catalog.

I just opened up feed://feeds.feedburner.com/matthewgoodorg in my RSS reader, and it shows the author names. If you guys don't see them in yours, you might want to try playing around with your options, or switch to Google reader or something. They are definitely there in all of mine.

[quote comment="36278"]I’m not really sure what we can do to solve the problem beyond having the name of each entry’s author appear above each post title in giant florescent pink letters.

Yeah, but wouldn't pink blinking letters make the page start to resemble some thirteen-year-old girl's MySpace page? :P

I could get snarkier, but then I may be taken entirely the wrong way, instead of in jest.

As a quick request - could you put the author's name into the RSS feed? I always read using the Sage plug-in in Firefox, and it doesn't include the author's name in the article. I have, on more than one occasion, come to the site to confirm who wrote the entry, but it would be quicker if there was a "by: Mr. Writer-type Person" as the first line of each entry for us feeding lot. Thanks, just a quick suggestion.
