Paris Hilton Gets Screwed (And Not On Camera This Time)

It looks like Paris Hilton will have to spend more of her time focusing on night club appearances and whatever else she has going that generates income. Her inheritance, it seems, is out the window. Even more, it looks like her grandfather’s decision to donate 97% of his worth to charity was partially influenced by her behavior…

“Reports have said that Mr Hilton is embarrassed by the behaviour of his granddaughter.

Ms Hilton, known for her party lifestyle, spent three weeks in jail earlier this year for violating probation in a drink driving case.

Mr Hilton will give $1.2bn immediately to a charitable trust that will eventually benefit the foundation.

The rest of the money will follow after his death.”

The 3% that remains does constitute a great deal of money that will presumably be split amongst the various members of the family, but obviously nowhere near the $2.3 billion dollars that Barron Hilton could have left them.

Let this be a lesson to those of you that are looking at inheriting large sums of money – sex tapes, jail time, and all around grossness do not factor well into your chances of securing it.

I don’t know why I should even care about this, as I always said she wasn’t news. That being said, this story has made my day.

  2. D. Lilly Says:

DAMN!! No wonder she said yes to my marriage proposal

  3. AHermann Says:

Good to finally see someone who is so useless with a lot of money lose it all and see where she really stands. As far as I’m concerned, that money is now being put to good use instead of being tossed out the window. Good on ya Mr. Hilton!

  4. Matthew Good Says:

True enough, the money will go to good use - “The foundation supports projects that provide clean water in Africa, education for blind children and housing for the mentally ill.”

  5. jay77 Says:

    Im sure she’ll be fine.

  6. HumanRightsatNight Says:

im sure that some of the money going towards AIDS research will come around to Paris Hilton eventually

  7. deb Says:

    That is fantastic.

  8. wynne Says:

    … wish I could inherit even a fraction of 3% of $1.2B.

  9. Adrienne Says:

I have to say, this is likely the first really newsworthy item concerning Paris that I’ve ever seen. The rest can be chalked up to what has become an almost morbid fascination with the worst examples of the spoiled rich.

Kudos to Mr. Hilton for using his money to do some good in the world.

  10. Ashleigh-Dawn Says:

Looks like she’ll have to release another perfume or trademark another catch phrase or something.
Or she could do another cheeseburger commercial over the hood of a Lambo.
Poor Paris, what with the pressures of being a celebrity skank….
better treat her delicately, she’s one Kevin Federlein from a nervous breakdown…
Now, there’s a reality show: Simple Life: The Trailer Years

“Paris Hilton Gets Screwed (And Not On Camera This Time) ”

Oh, no no, she’s still getting screwed on camera.. And we’re all loving it… lol

Although, she can show up at a party, get paid, then go home and get screwed.. Did someone mention whoring earlier?

You can look forward to years of shitty boring sex, punctuated by cell phone calls. Congrats!!

  13. paulonious Says:

I personally can’t take as much pleasure in the misfortunes of others. While I applaud Mr Hilton’s decision, I applaud it only for who is getting the money, not who WON’T get the money. Let’s face it people, Paris HIlton is a brat. But you know why? Her PARENTS are at least partially to blame for how she turned out. Which means that Mr Hilton himself did something wrong somewhere down the line with how he raised one of her parents as well.

While I don’t feel sorry for her (she’ll still have piles more money than I’ll ever see), as someone above pointed out, she’ll be just fine. She’ll probably just get another reality show out of it: “Poor Paris”, and she’ll make more millions doing it.

And who knows if this will ever happen anyway. The rest of the estate that is to follow after his death will surely be contested in the court system for years while fhe family continues to earn interest off it. And doesn’t this also mean they may not get the money, but they’ll inherit the empire? If that’s the case, they’ll ALL be just fine.

I don’t think Paris blames her parents for anything, so neither should you. Paris thinks she is perfect. Also, when you hit a certain age, you’re in charge of your own actions. She’s on her own and has no one to blame for screwing Rick Solomon but HERSELF.

  16. Miss Emily Says:

Christ, I think this is the first Paris Hilton story I’ve read in almost a year and I’m already getting tired of it.

  17. Dale Mugford Says:

Ha. He left me more than her.

  18. Miss Independent Says:

It’s awseome to see that money go to the people who actually need it. And not to the one who would have just blown it all on a ridiculous, excessive lifestyle that wouldn’t have benefited anyone but herself.

  19. oneeighty Says:

Given my complete indifference to this story, I’m surprised I’m responding.

The content of the story takes care of itself; a good gesture by Mr. Hilton which will hopefully bring about a positive change in people’s lives.

But the comments on this page, as well as many others, are quite worrying; there’s this strange subtle obsession with Ms. Hilton that’s marked by anger and disgust. I don’t condone anything she’s done that you’ll read about in an overpriced magazine that costs more than a monthly donation to some charities, but then again, I can’t imagine how I’d react, as a young person, being born into and growing up with such wealth.

I think we, in the main, are quick to judge and single out individuals who are ill-portrayed. Nothing she has done is laudable [that we know of] but who’s to say that you or I would act any differently? The hypothetical “I’d-give-all-my-money-to-charity” declaration is just that - a hypothesis. I for one would find it very difficult to grow up with wealth all around me, to be able to get up in the morning and get exactly what I wanted whenever I wanted it and not become a spoiled brat. In essence, from when she was old enough to understand, she WAS a spoiled brat.

Is that the parents’ fault? Yes and no. But the blame certainly doesn’t lie solely with Ms. Hilton.

Like the more constructive posters have pointed out, she’ll still have more money than most of us, so of course her lifestyle won’t be extremely changed. Her problem is, I suppose, she’s living in a comfort zone, and it is easy for us to suggest that she should leave that zone and do something worthwhile with her time. Whether we would find it so easy to do that if we were in her position is an entirely different issue.

She gets bad press. People lap it up. There’s nothing like flogging a dead horse that no one likes.

I’m not sure anyone will agree with me, but it’s all relative, and I feel every person’s life should be judged based on their circumstances, and not based on ours.

  20. xarcadia Says:

You know sometimes I feel like being a fatalist, and others more of an optimist. Are we who we are, never able to change? I admit, the media obsession with Paris Hilton has always been a bit of a mystery to me. She is a spoiled rich girl who has made a ton of mistakes. But I have noticed that since her incarceration she seems to have disappeared (please correct me if I am wrong, I dont watch any mainstream TV, or read any tabloids or anything so if she has been around I may have missed it). But anyway, I think her grandad has done an amazing thing. The remaining fortune split amongst the family is still probably going to be more than sufficient. However, at the same time I wonder (much like oneeighty) about the sentiment that is echoed on this board. To get a percentage of a billion dollars vs. several billion for me in either case is something to be thankful for. Who knows, maybe she threw a tantrum when she found out. But whether she did or didn’t, I wonder if it is possible that as she grows up, she may become a little more aware of the world, and become a more stable, aware participant in society as opposed to someone everyone just watches to laugh at. And I wonder if she ever tries to make these changes, will people let her? Or has she already doomed her adult self by being guilty of being a stupid kid?

  21. scamp2 Says:

Funny how things work. It’s fair to say (whether you like it or not) that Paris did more for the Hilton name then her father, and maybe even her grandfather.

I’m sure there’s some type of litigation that would entitle her to said means; if she could someone how claim her family benefited from her exposure. We must remember this is the United States; one of the only counties that allows punitive damages - among other ridiculous rulings.

Either way it will be interesting.

  22. Sel Says:

    Paris without money ? That’s hot !

  23. Eric in Ottawa Says:

I have only two words for her: ha ha!

  24. scamp2 Says:

In any event, Bhutto has been assassinated. Something that will surely have much more ramifications for many more people.

  25. hopeforchange Says:

You cant blame a girl for having sex with people that she thought she loved.. who you can blame is that idiot who took that tape and made it public and profited from it. She has done no worse then most girls do, the difference is that she is a celebrity and its fodder for our TV and magazines to profit from, so yes her exploits are there for the mass market to rip to peices.Yea, she is stupid.. or is she? Maybe this is her way of making her money in the world. Some say that Madonna, at Paris’s age, was stupid as well. I dont think either one of them is stupid, but shrewd business women, they after all market their most important asset, themselves. And make bank doing it.

But it is a relief to see that money go to a real good cause. In her defense she did do that marketing campaign for some liquor and the partial proceeds from that and part of the purchase of that beverage are going to drinkable water in Africa as well. So maybe she is learning her lessons.. who knows.

And yes Xarcadia, I think she has disappeared from the limelight so to speak since she left the clink.. maybe it did do what its purpose was..who knows. All in all I wish her no ill will. I would like for ONCE see a magazine or celebrity show do a whole spread on charitable things that celebrities do do.. and help raise awarness for good causes, instead of BS to fill in glossy pages or in a hlaf hour to a hour time span.

  26. melania Says:

Good for him. At least someone in that family has some class.

  27. Charmaine Says:

    Good. Her video sucked anyway.

  28. brooke Says:

I’m sure HGP provides an adequate retirement plan. She’ll be able to buy small dogs and handbags well into her 90s.

  31. Nameless Says:

Ohhhh but didnt you know, she is a career woman and makes all her own $…she doesnt need that inheritance…
Gawd only knows what a shitty smelling perfume contract is worth these days.
I can’t imagine how I’d react, as a young person, being born into and growing up with such wealth.
I imagine it would have a fair amount to do with how you were raised, and who was raising you–just like with Miss Hilton and her peers. Nature plus Nurture.

  34. Justin Says:

hopeforchange—I believe that her business/media talents had more to do with the sex tape & the idiot that sold it than did any ideas of love…and I don’t think she was naive as to whether or not the tape would eventually be made public. Any publicity is good publicity, and all that.

And like you, hopefully she learns something positive from this, and not just how to better hide mistakes or be discrete.

  35. hopeforchange Says:

Amen. She had to have known what he was capable of doing.. he is such ickiness. But nontheless she made the mistake and yes, she did blow up, media wise , right afterward. But she has sold her image as this dumb blonde girl and people bought it and continue to do so.. Its sad, but its what we have made the media what it is..

Bleh, to much time on the girl..better her would be riches go for better things.

    ahhh….housing…

  37. Raina Says:

It’s not like it’s the end of the world for her though, she’s still got her face on everything, clothing and perfume lines, and don’t forget her booming singing career… ;)

  38. Mandy Says:

While I agree that at some point we must take responsibility for our own actions, without a proper foundation a house will eventually fall down.

  39. xarcadia Says:

You know whats funny. I was on a dig 2 years ago and i was driving home one weekend and on the radio her “Stars are Blind” song came on. I didnt know it was her, but I thought it was ridiculously silly and cheesy. So on the way back to the dig on Sunday night I had two people in the car with me, and I made them listen to it when it came on the radio again and told them to guess who it was. No one did. The problem is the damned song got stuck in our heads and for the next 3 weeks we were singing it constantly….more in a mocking way than anything else…but still….the horror

I shouldn’t had admited that should I have?

  40. T-Lee Says:

Nah, when her first single was released, my niece whose heavily into underground punk bands admitted full on that she liked the new song….

  41. J-Hyuzen Says:

the terrible thing is that people are gonna feel sorry for Paris, and send her money.

  42. deb Says:

I don’t think it’s just the sex tape or the fact that any one, isolated incident has made us feel this way. It’s the fact that, as a young person who is in the spotlight, she (like others in her crowd) have used the attention so negatively . Instead of doing worthwhile things and being good role models they’ve chosen to do things like drink and drive, act slutty and party all night with cocaine, etc. Sure, many young people do this….but when the whole world crashes down on them we look at them as the reason why and don’t make excuses for them. Eventually it all catches up with you - rich or not. And Paris is no different.

The spoiled rich girl’s paying some dues now in relation to her behavior…that’s not a bad thing. And, yes, she’ll be o.k. in the end.

  43. oneeighty Says:

I must have missed that Psychology 101 class ;)

  44. rowmyboat Says:

i find it funny that some people are trying to turn this into a serious discussion…. there are even a few taking the devil’s advocate approach.

but really who cares about paris hilton or our weird angry obsession with her?

sometimes its just nice to stick out your tongue and go “na-na-na-na-na!!” to someone who has flaunted their unearned celebrity in all of our faces in much the same way over the years.

I don’t think we need to get much deeper than that!

  45. entropy71 Says:

i realize this is totally off topic and potentially offensive to say (how’s that for a qualifier)

but that sex video Paris took with Pam Anderson’s new hubby (a gem i am sure) absolutely slayed me

i didn’t think it was possible for anyone to make a blow job look that dull…

she looked at “it” as if it was another pair of shoes she was contemplating buying

sorry, but these things stupefy me

    lol

  46. T-Lee Says:

How does Paris still show her face after that? I haven’t seen it yet.

Anyway… *backs out of thread slowly*

  51. work_to_elevate Says:

Nice Charmaine…I only saw the short clips that were floating around…but she ANSWERED her PHONE during the BJ portion?!?!?! LAME. She doesn’t look like any fun at all anyway - that pretty much confirms it for me.
And I applaud Mr. Hilton for donating his $$$ to charity. But I’m sure he banged a few women that acted like his granddaughter during his heyday…he’s rich and owns hotels for crissakes.

  52. filbertfancy Says:

How frustrating it must be, having more money than you can ever spend and yet by giving it all away not being able to fix the worlds problems. Fixing only a few problems with huge amounts of money is probably the only way of putting such enormous wealth in some sort of perspective. To find a way to let the whole world live in health and peace should be a challenge many should attempt to conquer. I’m sure not even the richest has the power to accomplish this alone, but is nice to see some trying.

  53. T-Lee Says:

I wondered this for a long time, then looked into things. There was even a documentary on Ethopia after Bob Geldof formed Band Aid for Do they know it’s Christmas? Apparently there was replantation and things were abit better there last time I heard.

    We must all pray.

  54. T-Lee Says:

Ooops, I meant to say Live Aid.. Although, I do believe Band Aid was scrictly for Etheopia, as well????

  60. Agent-K Says:

As my roommate said… “This restores my faith in humanity.”

  61. snaapz Says:

    Well that’s too bad.

My opinion on this is …

She may be a “spoiled brat” but at least she is living a life which she wants to live.

It would be more of a shame if she led her life down a path that secured her chances at inheriting this money while at the same time not experiencing life in a way she wanted, what good is living a fake life just for money. I’m happier being my self and scrounging up pennies to fuel my car.

I’ve set fire and ruined a $20 bill just to realize I am not living my life to make money, just to destroy it.

Besides … I’ve yet to hear a valuable debate on WHY Paris is to be so hated. We’re only human, born to make mistakes ;)

  62. Emily M Says:
im sure that some of the money going towards AIDS research will come around to Paris Hilton eventually
BURN!

  63. ewhitten Says:

Lovely. She’s gotten what she deserves, and maybe now we’ll finally stop seeing her in the news.

In even more exciting news, I just got tickets to your Philedelphia show! Looking forward to it very much. :)

P.S. Will you be around afterwards as you have been at some Canadian shows?

  64. paulonious Says:

what I fail to see is why Paris “deserves” all the bad things that “we the public” wish on her? she is rich, and she has done with the fame that has been thrust upon her probably the best anyone of us could have done at that age. Fuck, I’ve done a LOT worse things in my life, but I’m not famous (thank GOD) so it wasn’t on CNN. So she made a fucking sex tape. So what. How many people have done that? She says stupid things in the press. I have looked back on the stupid things I’ve said into a camera over the years and I say “why, why did I say that?”. Only problem is, she has an exponentially wider audience than I ever had (again, thank GOD). Don’t hate on Paris, hate on those that MADE Paris. Namely, YOU.

Just for the record, I hate mass media celebrity shit. I don’t watch those shows, I like decent REAL music, but it disgusts me how people are so jealous of famous people that they must find something wrong with them and take pleasure in their pain. It’s sickening.

Those that hate celebrities need to get a life just as much as those that love celebrities.

And yes, I’m TRYING to lighten up. But this shit BUGS me.

  65. T-Lee Says:

    hmmmmmmmm where to start:

She made a sex tape and authorized it has 10 year old fans….

    Will think of more later.
