Taylor9,

Funny enough I ended up getting front row tickets, the last pair. I managed to luck out (which Im happy about), but still not happy about the situation. After seeing the seating chart and what had already been sold.

But anyways, its water under the bridge now, mistakes happen, I just wish Centennial Hall would admit it (if it was in fact their fault).

ok, update: I was just at Centennial Hall and picked up my two tickets and the Manager said that the tickets went on sale YESTERDAY morning and that everything printed stating that today was the on sale date was wrong. Whatever, Im still not impressed though, but its in the past.

Anyways, Centennial Hall is old school and everything is kept tract of on a single printed seating plan. When I got my tickets it looked as if EVERY OTHER row was sold on the floor (orchestra seating) starting with the first row, just incase you were going to head down today.

London Show -

Yes, I dont think its fair either that they started selling them (only online as far as Im aware) before they were "suppose" to. I will have to see whats still left when Im there at 10 this morning.
I wanted to add something to my above comment

Well Im not a happy camper at all. Just went on Centenntial Hall's website to check out the seating plan (whether its seated or standing, its seated) and found out that most of the 'good' (no pun) tickets are taken.

Now how can this be as they weren't supposed to be on sale until TODAY AT 10AM.

Im not sure where the miss-communication was, whether it was strictly a box office fault, or maybe Matt (or those working for him) changed something and failed to inform the fans (or the box office) but Im not happy about it at all.

I will be at Centennial Hall at 10am like planned, like I always have for tickets for his concerts. I will speak to the box office manager, but I doubt anything will be done to right this wrong for all of the loyal fans.

Im not against the on sale date/time being changed, Im ok with that, what I have an issue with is the fact that it wasn't posted on matthewgood.org or on Centennial Hall's website (where no on sale date is listed as of now)

Im not happy one bit, and Im sure Im not alone, however I will still buy tickets for what will for sure be a great show and in support of one great artist.

I got my tickets yesterday online. Very surprised that they were on sale early...but I couldn't pass up 3rd row centre tickets. I can't wait!!
Got mine yesterday online, just by fluke, big mess up by Centennial Hall, but I managed to still score 7th row. I hear you Kev, and if it wasn't for dumb luck, I'd be in the same boat as you. Hope you still got some decent tickets. Also picked up 7th row for Kitchener, they've got a decent website ordering system.

I wondered that same thing about the highest bidder thing.... But I guess that is the best way to get the most money for charity? Not sure.....

What is with pre-sales. I absolutely do not see the need for this. What is sold is never really what is sold and procrastinators usually win. Why even announce sale dates. The same goes for selling tickets to highest bidder for charity. Would it not make more sense to raise more money with a draw and let all fans, not just the ones with the big wallets get a shot. I hate the whole use the fans game.

I got tickets for the van show this morning from ticketmaster, for some reason the credit card option was hooped and only gave you the option of using amex, lucky for me i used my company card to still process but if this happend to others that didnt have an amex to use then they would have at minium lost thier place in the line and ended up with worse seats than they would have got. row 1 on the balcony! :)

Just as well this is a seated venue, Matts fans are not getting any younger, these shows will soon need to be in locations with special parking for mobility scooters :D

I am very happy for the London show and what makes me even happier is that you chose the venue I was hoping you would.. I will patiently await Saturday at 10am ..... but it won't be easy
There on sale now! I just bought a pair, kind of annoyed they didn't tell anyone they were on sale earlier, but go go go while you can!

would anyone object to me requesting "While We Were Hunting Rabbits" by singing it, opera style
satch, I have to commend you on your choice of songs (that and Near Fantastica are two of my favorites)... but you'll have to think very carefully about how it would come across. Your approach is a little bit classier than belting out "woooo!!!" in a venue like the Orpheum, but that still doesn't mean the event is a sing-along. ;-) As a member of the audience, you don't want to upstage Matt. It's not up to me to tell you what to do, but you've got a couple of months to think it through carefully.
Don't worry, I'm only learning. I've only been learning for... 6 months. I am only on my second song.

I doubt Matt would feel threatened, as he is the writer and performer. He can sing far better than I can and he's been doing it for over a decade. Plus he can play and sing at the same time, which I haven't developed beyond simple strumming and singing. And even then, my technique for opera goes out the window if I play an instrument at the same time (again, just learning).

I've been to a few concerts but I've seen lots of concert DVD's and stuff on youtube.... the audience often sings along and the performer loves it. I don't think Matt wants to face a crowd who's talking or just staring at him. He'd rather hear them sing along and when they do, he won't hear a single voice.

AND I'd be so nervous if I did try to request a song with what little training I have, that I'd wind up hurting my self ( I hate those damn hic-up like yodles that happen when you're going for the high notes and not "thinking the right thoughts" as my teacher loves to say ).

I searched but found When We Were Hunting Rabbits live was no where in youtube. Kinda made me sad and I hoped to request it.

That said, I don't know how Matt reacts to things. I mean you'll always find someone better than you. Look at Steve Vai, a freaking amazing guitarist, but there are people out there half his age who are better than him, albeit VERY few, and Steve says himself "You try to upstage me, then I try to upstage you, and that's how we all progress"
