Doing It Right Vs Doing It Wrong
July 31, 2008, Matthew Good The new del.icio.us design has been launched and it’s an amazing improvement. The same cannot be said of Facebook, whose new design looks as though it was farmed out to a high school computer class. True, the new tabbing system solves some layout problems, but it’s even more confused now than it was before. While Myspace might look like complete ass, at least they’re consistent.
While I am a steadfast Safari user, while on the topic of social apps I should also mention Flock, which is perhaps the world’s premier browser for integrating social applications. If you haven’t taken it for a spin, I highly suggest downloading it and giving it a whirl.

I thought you’d like Firefox? I hardly touch Safari now (’cept on the iPod). Flock is by Mozilla too I see, which can’t be bad. I’m downloading it now (thanks for the tip ;0)
Matt, I think your del.iciou.us link above has a www in front of it so it doesn’t work…
I don’t like the new Facebook layout, either, but you can still use the previous layout, thankfully.

The new facebook is complete garbage. I think they let their advertisers design it. Also, not sure if you saw it, but del.icio.us now redirects to http://delicious.com/. I think they are phasing out the former.
I like Safari more myself, even though I’ve used firefox from time to time.
I thought the new Facebook was garbage as well, so much that I flipped back to the old version.
I just found out today about the new facebook layout. Mr. Bruno seems to be fearing it, I just read in his status line.. Where is Bruno btw?
Yes, you can choose to use the new version of facebook or stay with the old.. but the question is: when you go to someone elses page, do you choose how to view it? or will it be what they have chosen? confused.

The new Face book design is cluttered & unorganized, the only thing I like about the new design is the tabs at the top of the page.
Facebook made me fat. I think I will delete my profile and stick to my new blog. Bloggin junkie (hey that would be a cool blog name)has no time for facebook anymore. pft. oops me bad?

Means that MySpace is designed shit-poor, and that the best-designed MySpace pages might qualify for “poo” status at best. :)
Facebook…going downhill fast. Started when the redundant, and really really stupid, Mini-Feed was made collapsible.

Thanks J. omg i love that you can comment on people’s status now by just clicking and collapsing, I think that was really cool when they intro’d that… other than that, I am now just using it to post albums of my work but I think it’s time to actually focus on one site. I have frickin 4 blogs (minus’d one this morning thank god), 1 website and a facebook page. I feel like puking being on this thing all day.

You know what, for some reason I don’t find that anger at this any more for some on reason. It annoys me but really, is it unexpected?
It’s Politics, going after Bush would be considered political, not going after Bush would be considered political. In politics there is no justice. There is only what gets youelected. Justice is usually optional.
Even if Bush is to go to jail, he’d probably get a Bil Jenklow type of sentence. Maybe longer, but definitely nothing in the scape of things.

K, I did some playing around.
When you select the new facebook, anyone’s profile you go onto will be in the new format… selecting the old facebook (while still on someone elses page)will take you to the old format and keep you on that person’s page. I think it is TERRIBLE, the new format… ouch, it hurts my eyes.
New facebook design = complete crap.
I’ve just downloaded flock, taking it for a whirl. I really like Mozilla, though.. I’ve pretty much never used safari.
I used Flock for a little while last year, and while I found it integrated flickr, delicious and wordpress quite well, the browser itself was buggy and crashed often, not to mention it loaded pages a heck of a lot slower than Firefox did. Mayhaps I will download the newest version to see if it’s improved.
