iTunes International Release Update
September 28, 2008, Administrator For those of you that missed the update, or haven’t clicked on the image at the top of the site regarding the release of the record, the entire recording is being made available internationally on iTunes on October 7th, not November the 4th. We were initially sent the wrong information, though we corrected it on the Live At Massey Hall page and did update the last entry made about the release.
It seems that a few people failed to read that update.
So, in Canada the first 12 tracks are available on iTunes on October 7th and all 20 tracks are available worldwide on the same day. The reason for this is because when the hard-copy is released it will only be available at Canadian retail. International orders can, of course, be made via the online store or other outlets – such as Amazon.
This little symbol lets you @ another comment

so if your in canada you can only buy the first 12 songs on Oct 7th? :(
Yes. But you have immediate access on the 4th to get the actual CD’s or can purchase the rest of the songs for only 6.99 on iTunes.
Okay, So I will purchase the first 12 songs (because it was one of my favourite concerts:)) and then pre-order the vinyl as well as the cd! I was really confused when there was an update and stuff. This cleared it all up and i suppose the first 12 songs will leave me even more exicted for the rest on the 4th. thank you!
Basically the reality is this. The initial Canadian iTunes release is limited because Canadians will be able to purchase hard-copies at retail. Fans in other countries won’t have that luxury, so the entire thing is being made available to them on October the 7th on iTunes only.
Yeah, that is really a good idea. I would be extremely upset if i did not have access to your CDs on say a trip to the mall, I never really thought of it that way. Another quick question is the vinyl double too? or is it all on one record?
very hot stuff…thanks for getting this out so soon Matt.
How are you going about putting the physical copies out? Did you go with Universal for the distribution on that?
So what day is the hard-copy cd going to be released in stores? Is that still November the 4th? I need to know so I can call ahead and get one saved for me :)
I can’t wait for this. I’ve been waiting for a live album from you since Beautiful Midnight (which was the first MGB album I got). And what made it worse was an HMV coming soon card one November that told me you had a live album coming out the day after my birthday. Nobody knew what the hell I was talking about when I went back to get it. I don’t know if it was canceled, or if somebody at HMV decided to be a jerk, but now I definitely get to have one. Excellent.
And what if you haven’t got iTunes at all? Waitwaitwait.
Although I am looking forward to the live stuff, I will say I am a little disappointed that the international fans get the whole release in one shot, mean while Canadians have to wait till November. Plus it seems kinda weird, If I buy into the initial 12 tracks, why would I wait till November to purchase a CD/Record?
Chris
I feel bad about getting all getting upset that its not fully released on iTunes in Canada on the 7th. My apologies if I seemed like an ass. I am still grateful that it is being released and its good the rest of the world is able to get a hold such GOOD music. I look forward to hearing about the success of this album along with the new one!
Austin
So if I was to log into itunes.com instead of itunes.ca would I be able to buy the entire thing? Or will my Canadian IP address be shown the door? =P
The physical double Cd is a “limited release.” Is it “limited” in the sense that it’s only available in Canada or is there a limited number of copies being manufactured?

I think I read on the site that it was a 10,000 copy press.

Yeah, I read that too. But damn, that doesn’t seem like very many.
Seeing as how Dale’s recent post put the unique visits to this site at up to 15,000 per day, I think there will be fisticuffs when coming down to the last 100 copies, lol.
Limited number of copies being released. And you don’t have to download the first 12 songs if you don’t want to. Wait until Nov 4th. The point is, people in the UK or New Zealand can’t walk into a record shop and get a hard-copy, Canadians can.
if everyone really wants the hard copy they will pre-order it or go right to the stores on the 4th. for those who are going to wait till december 20th and find out there all gone I don’t think iTunes will be running out.
oh boy i’ve been watching live videos all night :) and i cannot wait too have single spark explosion live on my ipod!! the ending of that song is simply amazing live!!!
Will the iTunes version be in the iTunes Plus format? I’ll double buy either way to get the full show in the U.S. but would like to see Apple support higher resolutions, lossless preferably. Looking forward to hearing this!
If you pre-order on the website, are the items being shipping out on the 4th of November??
i’d think probably before so that you get them in time! but thats just my idea.
As long as I can buy a “hard copy”. Wondering if there’s anyway to find out what stores will get them… HMV, Best Buy, what have you.
So, regarding the hard copies, can we pre-order them through the website?
Matt- I have a big green felt pen circle around Oct 7th as online pre-order date through your site. Is this correct? (are you getting a headache yet?) Sorry- just a little excited and don’t want to miss the limited edition because I misunderstood something.
Will there be a live single by any chance?
I think a live album from you in so long overdue. Anyone can sing in a studio,
with the ability to have take after take and so on and digitally master it…yada ya..
when you hear that same person do it live….especially night after night live….
it puts that artist in a whole different level than the rest and most for that matter…
Is there any chance of an extended version of “safer than a bank”?? sometime??
