Massey Hall Vinyl Release
It seems there has been some extremely fucked up miscommunication regarding the vinyl release of the record. I am now being told that it will not be available for purchase, be it online or at retail, until the November 4th release date. Sorry for the confusion.

October 7th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Ohh.. that sucks! Not that I wanted one, but it really sucks that you were told one thing and another happened…. not to mention all the fans that were looking forward to the presale! BUMMER!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
Aha! I knew I didn’t miss it, I’ve been checking online every 5 min for the past 10 hours and didn’t see a single thing……PHEW!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
FRIG!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Any word on when the cd presale will open?
October 7th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Poo on the miscommunication! Ah well, autograph cd and a normal cd is all I wanted.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Mr.Good on the day your album gets released you ought to wake up earlier than noon, you almost caused 10,000 people a heart attack :) :) :)
I’m sure everyone is glad to wait for the vinyl, as long as it’s not sold out.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
Thanks for the update Matt. :) Miscommunication is a bitch.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
Is it possible to fine out at what time the vinyl will go on sale, so that people don’t end up staying up all night pressing refresh from midnight to 10:20am? :)
October 7th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
well at least i know now! :) thanks so much for looking into this for us:) and i will recharge till the 4th so i’ll be up all night.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
lol pressing refresh? Thank god i’m a developer ;-) hehehehe
October 7th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
Matt . . . when the vinyl does go on sale on the 4th of November do you know how it will be distributed? Will it be available only through your store (maple music) or will it also be present in retail outlets in Canada.
Also I am wondering why the decision to only make a portion of the album available to iTunes Canada while the full album is available elsewhere? I purchased the pre-order cd this morning but I would sure love to also buy the show in it’s entirety on iTunes Canada . . .
BTW . . . from what I have heard so far this sounds amazing . . . GREAT WORK!!!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
I thought about buying one, but then I remembered I don’t have a turn table. Would still be a pretty nice keepsake though.

unrelated q- when using the quote function why do I (and thankfully many others) inadvertently end up quoting ourselves???? what the hell am I doing wrong?

HAHA Maybe…
A small program in Java ;-) When the page changes, I find out about it within a minute or less.
Good times!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Ok thanks, good to know.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
i have no problem with another sleepless night waiting to order vinyl. thank you for the updates.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
who cares when it comes out.
as long as it comes out and i get one all that matters.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
300 signed copies are now sold out? Are unsigned copies going up anytime soon?
October 7th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Are there any signed copies of the vinyl that are going to be available? I wasn’t planning on purchasing a CD.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
I think that’s kind of the point.. without pre-order through MapleMusic, it will be more difficult for you to get one =/
October 7th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Thanks Matt…it will certainly be worth the wait….
any chance it will be on 180 gram vinyl? no worries either way!
come on Nov 4th!
October 7th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
im sure in the end we’ll all get what we wanted.
Last time I remember reading how people said it was a waste of money for the vinyl.
To each is own though.
October 7th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Wow nice work! I’m happy I was able to scoop up a signed copy before they sold out..
October 7th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
So no presale? So I get to bite my nails until then?
Are all of the CD preorders gone too, or am I just blind?
October 7th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Ah damnit.
Foot -> Mouth.
Apparently I am blind. What about a non-signed CD preorder?
October 7th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
That would also be election day in the US. Could be difficult for me to acquire one of these vinyls it seems. Shit.
October 7th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Thanks for the update, Matt; I think many of us would have otherwise been glued to the Maple Music site for the rest of October waiting for the vinyl to pop up. :)
LOL Beth, I never noticed the US election day thing. At least I’ll have something to escape into if McCain wins.
And thanks again for letting us do the whole online preorder thing, Matt! Even with all the confusion, it was fun times hanging out here on the site with everyone and being anxious. =P Not to mention that for those of us outside of Canada, it was a complete godsend. X)
October 7th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
hello matt good job on the live cd and dan’s bass sounds good to
take care hope to hear some new stuff to

Absentee voting.
October 7th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
One question that I (as well as a few others) had is regarding the 10,000 unit pressing. Are the total of presale Cds that are sold separate from that 10,000? A few seemed to think that it was 10,000 physical copies - period - whether presold or not while others were under the impression that, no matter how many items are presold there will then be 10,000 units shipped to retail stores across Canada. Can anyone clear up this confusion?
By the way, I got my SIGNED copy purchased. And I’m quite stoked.
October 7th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
When will the Double CD be available - Pre-Sale or otherwise?
October 7th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
well that explains things…
i missed the signed cd pre-order though cause of school, grrrrr.
there will be more, yes?
October 7th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
Okay. I now see Matt already cleared that up in the previous post. Hey, I quoted myself! But this time it was on purpose!
October 7th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
oh thank god I didn’t miss it
yay no one in my neighbourhood is as into matt good as I am I will get epic dibs :3
October 7th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
I missed out on a signed one? When was that ever advertised? I’ve been scouting Maple Music for days.
I’ll settle for a pre-sale Double CD but that doesn’t appear available either!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
October 7th, 2008 at 7:33 pm
The signed copies weren’t advertised. That was a nice surprise. But from memory and reading other posts, it seems Matt has previously done the same with Hospital Music and In A Coma. :)
October 7th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
This is going to sound re-dick but when you say Vinyl, are you meaning a full huge style ‘record’ like my Corey Hart Boy in the Box record in grade 8? I’m so out to lunch on technology that for all I know, the word vinyl now means something totally different……. because there is not a record store I go to that sells vinyl these days, (the kind I remember, anyhow)..
Also, daddy in law gave me a free gift card - $10 on itunes…. hmmmm, now if I had a frickin clue how to redeem this sucker.
October 7th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Yes TLS, that’s exactly what he means. :)
October 8th, 2008 at 2:04 am
Strangely, this works out nicely for me - should have the $$$ to get the vinyl and the CD by then.
Still, it sucks for everyone who had planned to order it today.
October 8th, 2008 at 8:16 am
TLS, if you open up iTunes and go to the store, on the top right hand side there’s a box that says “Quick Links” with an option that says “Redeem”. Clck the redeem link and voila! You can use your gift card.

I’m sure everyone is glad to wait for the vinyl, as long as it’s not sold out.
HA HA HA.
You should know by now that Matt doesn’t have a normal sleep schedule. Normal is a place he visits. :)
Wasn’t home yesterday, and it didn’t cross my mind. WOW, I’m really out of the realm here. I’ll just have to patiently wait until the CD is available.
October 8th, 2008 at 9:25 am
Wait a minute, I was quoting someone in that first paragraph. How in the hell did I do that??
October 8th, 2008 at 10:14 am
Thank’s Shane and Gallagher
October 8th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Considering normal around where I live….I prefer insanity. Of course when people refer to you as crazy around here, they rarely have any logical backing to state that you are actually mentally ill Although I could always point out that I live in the same town as them or the fact that the highest person in government from my home state is our VIce President. That alone is enough for me to get sleepless nights. Of course so is thinking.

Tony Shucraft
U R funny !!!! I’m presently taking a unwanted vacation from normal. My circadium rhythm gets a bit screwed up for a couple of weeks prior to the time change. I’ve been in sleepy mode and just feel out of sync. Very fuzzy, however, I feel better as the day goes on.
Since I’m obviously having a difficult time quoting others and seeing that people are quoting themselve’s, what gives? I need step by step instructions, so I’m sending out an SOS. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not computer savy. :(
October 8th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Off topic - I know we are all caught up in the new release but if anyone is not reading Matt’s bookmarked links on the right side of the homepage, then you are missing some very important content.
October 8th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
On the upside, the delay will give people a chance to go out and by a turntable!
October 8th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Tony Shurcraft- You’ll be the 2nd to admit it my dear… I gave a shout out for help with my nemesis, the quote button, but thus far no takers for instructions…. I guess we shall all continue quoting ourselves….
Somebody…. please… Tony & I really want to stop looking stupid.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Ok folks am I missing something here. Pre sale of Live at Massey Hall never came up as available on the online site via U.S. location if that matters?
OR DID THEY GET SOLD OUT THAT QUICKLY?
If I missed ‘the boat’ I’m pissed.
October 8th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
Michael Eh - I live in the US and the album came up as available for me. I think they all sold out by around 4pm EST on 10/7 (although it might have been much sooner since Matt’s post before this says they sold out in 2 hours). Also in the previous post, though, Matt said they’re working on getting more to put on sale at the online store so don’t give up hope. I’m sure there will be more soon. :D
k - I don’t think anyone knows how to use the new quote function, lol. Or if they do, they are keeping the information secret so that they can laugh at us. =P
Hmm, I think I’ll experiment (bet this isn’t going to work …):
October 8th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
Fail again!
October 8th, 2008 at 7:33 pm
Hmmm no more quote function?
Thanks for the info. Taro Twist
Just to be sure I’m gonna call a person I know who owns a independent music store back in Canada (actually met this guy at one of M.G.’s concerts) and see if he can hold me a copy when they come in.
Thanks again!
October 8th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
I’ve got way too many vinyls that I’ve been dragging around for years.
I keep buying them at garage sales and swap meets.
October 8th, 2008 at 11:13 pm
I just bought five today. Three Police and two Floyd. Good stuff.
And while I was buying up those five records (which included a copy of Dark Side of the Moon WITH poster), I pre-ordered my CD at the front counter. :)
