Those that use Facebook are aware that it is replete with adverts for everything from online dating sites to real estate agents. But a rather disturbing trend is beginning to emerge, one that is exemplified by the image that I have included at the top of this entry.
The scheme is quite simple. The advert is for Google Money Tree (which is not officially affiliated with Google), a scheme with which people can supposedly make a considerable amount of money by doing nothing but “surfing the web”.
That said, what does the image above say to you when you look at it? There is a pretty girl in a bra exposing her large breasts sitting on a bed covered in money. While not all of the adverts are as suggestive, many of them are.
The use of such images speaks to just how low advertising will stoop to draw individuals in. In this case, the woman in the image comes across as something akin to an aspiring porn star, not as a self respecting individual that simply possesses an entrepreneurial spirit. And there is something altogether disturbing about that.
