It’s What’s Come To Be Expected

The following is, of course, standard operating procedure…

“Israeli officials announced today that their government will not cooperate with the United Nations investigation into war crimes committed during the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. The United Nations Human Rights Council intends for former war crimes prosecutor Richard Goldstone to investigate allegations of human rights violations by both sides during the war, which killed 1,417 Palestinians, mostly civilians.

According to Israel’s Foreign Ministry, the decision not to cooperate will mean that the government will not even allow members of the UN delegation to enter the country. Any investigators seeking access to the Gaza Strip will have to rely on Egypt, assuming they decide to allow it.”

This comes as absolutely no surprise, especially from a country that has never allowed the UN to inspect its nuclear facilities, which it still claims do not exist despite the fact that Israeli intelligence has been found culpable of acquiring US nuclear secrets from ‘flipped’ Israeli sympathizers within the US military infrastructure. Equally unsurprising is the fact that the United States has never taken any direct action against Israel for conducting such operations within the United States.

Of course, the IAEA isn’t stupid, and thanks to the courage of Mordechai Vanunu the world knows that the Israelis possess a nuclear arsenal, one that certainly grew during the 18 years that he spent in prison (11 in solitary confinement) for having the guts to tell the truth.
