Publishing Idiots

Journalism is a pretty easy trade to break into. Stalk a few people, falsely accuse a few of rape, and it seems you land a column.

Given that Rachel Marsden spent most of her time at SFU falsely accusing men of raping her, or stalking them, it doesn’t surprise me that she has absolutely no grasp of history whatsoever. I seriously know 10-year-olds that are more educated…

“I’m talking about the people who can be credited for turning the city from a giant wilderness into the budding metropolis of today. The place, and indeed the whole of my country, Canada, was pretty third-worldish until the English, French, and various other Europeans arrived and started planning and building infrastructure and government, and teaching the natives discipline, order, and capitalism. Canada or the USA without European immigrants would look somewhat like Africa.

It’s no coincidence that the best countries in the world are either European or founded by Europeans. Everywhere they go, European immigrants make things better – until they’re asked to leave, at which point everything usually descends back into chaos. Not that they ever get any thanks for it.”

“European or founded by Europeans”. Interesting, especially given that the article that that quote is taken from appears on the website of British newspaper. What makes that interesting? I don’t know, maybe it has something to do with the fact that Britain was itself subjugated by a European power that considered it barbaric.

And then there was that rather fantastic period of European history known as the Dark Ages which reversed centuries of advancements in civics, mathematics, philosophy, and a whole host of other civilized endeavors, many of which were lifted from others, such as the Egyptians, without whom the roots of modern mathematics and astronomy couldn’t have been lifted by the Greeks.

Europeans were fantastic at one thing above all others – the art of subjugation. They did it to themselves, they did it to others. When they arrived in the Americas, and elsewhere, they ushered in centuries of it, in some cases wiping out entire peoples. Those that were left were treated as inhuman, subjects to be assimilated, their ancient cultures tossed aside as if pointless. Such is not the undertaking of a great people, but that of a greedy, genocidal, power hungry people, and is certainly nothing to be proud of whatsoever if you possess a soul. Then again, when you’re perfectly comfortable framing innocent men for rape, I would say that you probably don’t possess one, so.

And by the way, Rachel, you obviously have no clue regarding how integral a role Asians played in the development of Vancouver and British Columbia. Given that your dad was a teacher, one would think he would have enlightened you. Mind you, he may have been too busy sexually harassing an under-aged student and losing his teaching license to do so. Maybe that’s where your predilection for framing innocent men comes from – the need to get back at a guilty one.

The fact that anyone would even publish your tripe speaks to the state in which much of the fourth estate now finds itself – one hell of a sorry one.
