Samar Mazloum, daughter of 2, Sister of 2, Aunt of 2, Survivor of 2 wars. I was born in Lebanon but was moved at the young age of 6 months to Saudi Arabia where I spent the next 12 years of my life. At the age of 12 I moved to Windsor, Ontario, with my family for the next 14 years and am now back in Lebanon. Enter the lost between two cultures side of my personality.
I studied environmental engineering at the University of Windsor; I wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps. However, I always wanted to do more and so I worked numerous jobs: lab, sales, engineering, research, writing and teaching. Currently I teach at a Lebanese university and run a drinking water bottling plant project.
I used to be a planner. My friends have actually dubbed me the “drill sergeant” on our vacations. However, living in such a volatile country for the last few years has taught me to be more flexible. I still colour coordinate my closet though.
