Yesterday thousands of pets and their owners gathered all around British Columbia to raise awareness for the protection, welfare, security and safety of all animals - domestic, farm and wild. While the final numbers aren't yet in, I think it's safe to say that the BC-SPCA came very close to their Province-wide goal of $850,000. Fundraising dollars are put to use in many different ways. After months of hard work and campaigning, MG.org's family, friends, fans and readers contributed $7,624 to the BC-SPCA! ...More »

Hey everyone! Here is the link to our Paws For A Cause page. We now have over $7,500 dollars in donations (100% of our goal!), thanks to everyone that has donated! If you would like to donate, as there is one more day left, please visit the page linked above! A Message From Matt If you’re a routine visitor, I don’t need to go into detail regarding my love for dogs, nor animals in general. I grew up with three dogs, have raised four of them over ...More »

Casey has had a handsome haircut and Benji is ready to lead the pack. Bella and Pete are also gearing up and all four are ready to rally and march in Sunday's Paws For A Cause - the largest fundraiser for animals in BC, with all funds going directly to the SPCA. The campaign at MatthewGood.org has been overwhelmingly successful, and with one full day left, we are only $264 short of our $7,500 goal! Those who haven't donated funds but would ...More »

With exactly one week until the SPCA’s Paws For A Cause, I can’t believe how close we are to our goal! To be honest, I was somewhat uncharacteristically skeptical about our fundraising goal, but the generous support has been above and beyond what I think anyone expected. A huge thank you goes to those who have donated. So far, $6,765 has been raised – 90% of our $7,500 goal! This means we have seven days to raise another $735. While we're nearing ...More »

After much deliberation and hand-wringing... Teemu it is... and not just because that is the name of Roy's favorite Anaheim Duck... (and an all around nice guy... always a great interview...) What sold it was this... Tuuli22: Teemu is the Finnish form of the Greek “Nikodemus” and means “chosen by the people” - I find that very nice. A $100 donation will be made to Paws for a Cause in Tuuli22's name... and while we're at it... if you haven't donated yet, PLEASE DO!!! So thanks to her ...More »

Hello everyone, what a day!!! I got adopted today!!! You see, I had a pretty rough start... I was born on June 8th and my sister Myrtle and I were dumped off at the pound as newborns... we never really got to know our mommy... we were hand nursed and some really nice people at the doggy rescue took care of us until we were big enough to go off into the big world on our own... (my sister Myrtle also found a nice family to ...More »

You know, I’ve been doing this long enough to know better than to link to right leaning blogs. By doing so initially in this entry I broke the golden rule, which is to stay on topic and not invite negative attention. Thus, I have amended this entry to correct my own ignorant oversight. One can only imagine what it must be like for an adult prisoner to endure US treatment at Guantanamo. But for Omar Khadr, who was sent to the facility when he was ...More »

I'm not immune from the transgressions of culture. Nor am I immune from those aspects of life which, looked at from a morose comparable-to-the-rest-of-the-world view, make my very waking seem a crime. Though I don't despair nor do I endevour too far into patting my self on the back for my efforts day to day in making things a little better for myself and others. This website, and those who write on it routinely face some very disturbing e-mails from "right-wing" types, disgruntled fans, and those ...More »

President Bush gave a speech today at Monticello, once the home of Thomas Jefferson. As he began speaking, dissenters in the audience became vocal, as is their Constitutional right. Ironically, as the first of them was being dragged away by the Secret Service, the President had the audacity to claim that that was the great thing about America – that Americans have the right to free speech… …and after about 20 or seconds of it they get dragged away and turned over to local authorities. You ...More »

Her focus as an author will primarily be British political, human rights, and foreign affairs issues. Detention Without Charge Last Wednesday UK MPs voted by 315 votes to 306 to give a government minister the power to extend to 42 days (from 28) the period of time for which terror suspects can be held without being charged with any offence. The bill would still have to be ratified in the House ...More »
