Authorities have identified the man responsible for stabbing Tim McLean to death on a Greyhound bus yesterday as 40-year-old Vince Weiguang Li of Edmonton. The CBC offers details on Li’s background here.
There is absolutely no question that this story is horrific and tragic. That said; some of the commentary flying around the web because of it is truly frightening. Everything from the reintroduction of capital punishment to the easing of gun laws is being promoted. And then there is the truly ugly side, the hidden ...More »

Canada’s urban homie squads or the Taliban…
When you’re a hard ass urban gangster, fear isn’t an issue. Unless, of course, you’re faced with hardened fanatics actually returning fire rather than peeing their pants when you produce whatever handgun you’ve illegally acquired because your penis is only 2 inches fully erect.
Let’s cut the shit – the truth is that you wear bad clothes, have access to 24 hour drive through, listen to horrible music in your Escalade at a volume that ensures that everyone within ...More »

Jamie just moved the bus to wash off the paint ball wax. I talked to him about his conversation with the police last night, as I didn’t wait up until they arrived. He told me that earlier in the evening the same thing happened to a taxi and, if you can believe it, a person on a motorcycle.
Jamie didn’t find out from the OPP if the person riding the motorcycle was injured or if they lost control of it because of the paint balls. ...More »

I don’t know what to say about this. It's quite beyond me...
“A 73-year-old Austrian is under arrest on suspicion of hiding his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathering seven children with her, police say.
The existence of the woman, believed missing since 1984 and now 42, emerged after a teenage child fell ill and had to be taken to hospital.
Both the woman and teenage girl are receiving medical treatment and the other children are in care.
A police investigation in Amstetten, Lower Austria Province, ...More »

Yesterday’s Congressional testimony by FBI Director Robert Mueller was one of the most blatant examples of doubletalk that you will ever come across. During his testimony, Mueller verified that numerous FBI agents had complained about the conduct of CIA interrogators and their use of harsh techniques. Given that, according to Mueller’s testimony, when questioned by Rep. Robert Wexler…
“Robert Mueller: I can go so far sir as to tell you that a protocol in the FBI is not to use coercion in any of our interrogations ...More »

Lance accidentally bought me Marlboro Light Menthols last night. The only person that I know that smokes them on a regular basis is Dale Jr., therefore smoking them reminds me of being in North Carolina for some reason – so a big hey to all the DM residents courtesy of the flavor of mint.
I haven’t commented on it yet, so I suppose I should. Our government has voted in favour of extending the mission in Afghanistan until 2011. There are conditions though. The first is ...More »

In a recent report released by the Pew Center on the States, America now has the largest prison population in its history, and the largest per capita incarceration rates worldwide.
The steadily growing inmate population "is saddling cash-strapped states with soaring costs they can ill afford and failing to have a clear impact either on recidivism or overall crime," the report said.

Two pops, to acoustic echoes, just around the corner someone was dead in a van. It’s the sixth homicide in town this year and we’re only thirty six odd days into it…
“Vancouver recorded its sixth homicide of 2008 Friday when a man was shot dead while sitting in his van at the 300 block of Carrall Street in the city's infamous Downtown Eastside.
The Vancouver Police Department's major crime and forensic identification teams have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred at around 6:30 p.m. ...More »

In honour of the fact that Vancouver was named the break in capital of North America today – with four times as many as that of New York City per 100,000 residents – I have decided to post my most recent demo - The Vancouver National Anthem.

George Tenet.
Whenever I write or hear that name one word comes to mind – scapegoat. Not surprisingly, it seems that the CIA’s former clandestine service chief, Jose Rodriguez, might not be in the mood to join Tenet in that distinction.
Rodriguez, on whose watch the now infamous CIA tapes were destroyed, has indicated that might be willing to cut an immunity deal regarding his upcoming testimony in front of the House Intelligence Committee.
So the question has to be asked – what damaging information does ...More »
