The soonest I am able to get Casey in to see the vet is tomorrow morning. Things haven’t gotten any better. He can barely walk, licks his feet incessantly, and is lethargic. Roy called me last night and was worried that at some point Casey might have walked through antifreeze or some sort of fertilizer, so I immediately washed his feet, which caused him to yelp. I’m quite concerned to be honest.

It's a beautiful day here in the city of Toronto, who wouldn't get up early to enjoy it?
Man, beaten to the punch on a Saturday morning!
Thanks to all who supported me last week. I'll keep results short and by the numbers.

The weather has been less than co-operative here in the beautiful city of Toronto. Perhaps it adds pathetic fallacy to some of the events in the news.
I bet you didn't think that the Aki Berg of authors around here knew what that literary term meant. Truthfully, I'm not sure I do either, but Roy's beating me in our hockey pool so I figured I should steal some of his wind as an author.
There is a rather high amount of doom and gloom going around. ...More »

It's a beautiful day here in the great city of Toronto.
Elsewhere in the world things are not so rosy.
Baseball games get rained out. The Rumble In The Jungle was postponed by a cut.
Hell, even the greatest St. Feast Day can get bounced on a formality.
Matthew Good got stuck with a pocket full of kryptonite and had to DELAY some shows. I'm not prone to use the word cancel.
It's depressing but time will heal this wound, too.

I’m tired. Not a lot of sleep last night. I spent it in one of those semi-states of sleep, the sort where you’re aware that you have to be mindful of something that requires that you remain somewhat conscious but are still trying to sleep at the same time.
It’s clear and sunny here again today, as it has been this past week. In fact, it’s been uncommonly beautiful for this time of year, even given the chill the wind provides here on the West ...More »

It'll be a long warm stretch of weather here in the great city of Toronto. If you're like me this isn't a hangover post because of the mid-week festivities - so I hope I can capture your attention for at least a few paragraphs.
Nobody asked me - but when did blame become a major part of the Canadian tactic in foreign policy?
You know what Canada is beginning to remind me of - George Foreman after his loss to Ali in the Rumble In The Jungle.

It is the holiday season here in the great city of Toronto. There is no boxing on TV, my hockey team sucks, and baseball's scandalous Mitchell Report hardly has me salivating for the new season. So without further delay,
Nobody asked me but -
What's the tab again for those tanks we got from the Germans to work in Afghanistan?
Earlier this week a Canadian Leopard 2A6M was destroyed by either a conventional land mine or an IED in S. Afghanistan. Injuries sustained by operators of the armored ...More »

It is November and ergo donc, too dark in the AM to determine if it is nice out or not in the beautiful city of Toronto.
Though it likely will be, because I love cool weather and that is certainly on it's way.
Why do I love cool weather? Well, apparently boots are in this season for women of the cosmopolitan ilk in this urban centre - and boots are never a bad choice for the Aki Berg of authors.
However, if you're not in this fine ...More »

During that Q & A at last night’s event I was asked about the recent poll in which 78% of Afghans polled nationally believe that “things are generally going in the right direction”. Of course, when one reads that, and doesn’t delve any deeper analytically, it looks automatically fantastic, and to those that support our continued role in combat operations it is ‘proof positive’ that we’re succeeding.
1,758 individuals were questioned for the poll conducted by Environics. In Kandahar, where we are currently militarily focused, ...More »

It's Saturday morning. It is a reasonably attractive day in the lovely city of Toronto.
I kid! It is beautiful here, as always. I mean, it's outstanding outside. Get outside and take a drive out to wine country if you can.
It's got to be good to go - because this is the Saturday morning hangover post. From the "Aki Berg" of the authors on this site. Lowering the standard of writing of matthewgood.org and challenging even the most sophisticated sppell checking programs the administrator can provide ...More »
