The Supreme Court of the State of California passed a landmark ruling today... same sex couples will be given the legal right to marry...
Now while I applaud this long overdue ruling, and on the surface this may seem to be a good thing, the conspiracy theorist in me (trust me, I know him well, that guy is a fruity nut bar with a chewy nougat center under a pointy tinfoil hat) is mighty suspicious of the timing...

When the minority government of Stephen Harper came to power it did so with the promise that transparency and accountability would be its cornerstones. There are things that you see, and there are things that you do not. For example, we all know that our current government is rather friendly with the Bush Administration. What you might not know, for example, is that we signed an agreement with the United States that allows us, and them, to send troops across the border in the event of an emergency.
