Well, it doesn’t look like President Bush or Vice President Cheney will be visiting Brattleboro, Vermont, after they leave office. The residents of Brattleboro directed town officials to draft indictments against both Bush and Cheney for violating their oaths of office. A vote was then held, with 2012 citizens supporting the indictment and 1795 voting against it.

According to a recently published piece at Salon.com, two former CIA officers have come forward and backed claims recently made by the former CIA chief of clandestine operations for Europe that President Bush knowingly ‘squelched top-secret intelligence’ regarding Iraq’s possession of WMD’s. No matter the promises made by the Democrats, who secured a House majority in last year’s elections, little progress has been made with regards to seriously addressing the conflict in Iraq. Of course, legislation has been tabled and passed by both Houses and vetoed by the President, but many have become disenfranchised with the Democrat’s inability to make real progress. Polls are polls are polls – you can put as much belief in them as you’d like. That said, it seems a recent American Research Group poll found that 45% of those polled are in favour of the impeachment of President Bush, with 46% of those polled in favour of the impeachment of Vice President Cheney.
